Here's a great article written by a great friend of mine Roberto Naya, a true humanitarian.
I think you will find his writing refreshing and inspirational.
At the bottom of this post, I'm including his e mail address.

It's untitled, but such could be:

"Man's purpose"

"As man has evolved we can sometimes be amazed as to all our potential. The creations of man has surpassed any other living being in this planet. We are like gods compared to any other species on earth. That is easily observable. Our potential is not in question. Discoveries and constructions and inventions are all around. If you take away everything that is man made or man influenced, the world would be totally different.
There is a definite difference in man and all other living entities. The easiest answer to that difference is that we have a Mind. With that mind we change the environment , man adapts his environment to his needs and desires. Other life forms adapt to their environment. We change our. This is in the field of knowledge of Cause and effect. Man has an inherent desire to be Cause.
Now comes the question.
It is seen that man is causing things all the time. That is not the question. The question is more in the area of what should man be causing ? Is what he is casing correct or incorrect. Are we creating a better world or not. In order to know what we are suppose to be doing we would have to know a few things.
1. Why are we here?
2. Where are we going ?
3 Who or what put us here?
4. And finally who or what are we?
In all the time man has been here on earth these questions have been talked about , argued about , theorized, fought about, killed about , loved about etc. And still there is not a standard answer to these questions.
The funny part is that all these answerers are right available in our minds. We know the answers to these questions. We think of them often. We just can't believe it. But deep down inside we know the answers.
But if we confronted these answers we might have to change what we do everyday. We might have to change what we think is important or not important. We might have to confront that we are being lied to constantly. Or that what we do everyday is not totally what we came here to do. Every once in a while we snap out of this imposed reality and feel like we are living in an imposed illusion.. that there is something wrong somewhere and we can't put our finger on it. That there has to be more to life that this. BUT we go on causing things and that keeps us interested in life. Every once in a while we see someone that seems to be happy, he is a little different than the rest, he doesn't seem to be in as big a rush as the rest he seems to be at peace. What happened with that person is that he has answered those questions a little bit . Sometimes when a person gets old.. it is not that he answered those questions.. BUT he has realized what those answers are NOT. He can look back at his life and see some of the things he did were not exactly important. He sees some of the things he should've done. This little bit of truth brings him inner peace.
1. Why are we here?
2. Where are we going ?
3 Who or what put us here?
4. And finally who or what are we?

So... at least you can add finding the answers to these questions as part of your life and in there lies the real answer to the question What is the purpose of life !!
Don't be led astray as if you get these answers wrong There are a lot of wrong answers being sold...YOU might waste a whole lifetime."
